Now this is very interesting!

For over 25 years, I lived in Menominee, the southernmost city in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. When I was a kid, I thought our only claim to fame was when Life Magazine  came to our town in my senior year to cover our interstate 100 year old football rivalry with Marinette, a city right across anyone of our three bridges in Wisconsin. We won 21-15 despite my late interception that almost turned the tide for Marinette.

I never knew that one of Menominee’s forefathers not only had an impact saving lives locally in the UP, but in the end on a global level!

Check this bit of history out.
